Burkina Faso۰۳۹;s prime minister stresses need to pave Imam Khomeini’s path to confront hostile Western powers
Burkina Faso۰۳۹;s Prime Minister Kyélem de Tambèla, who is in Tehran for a visit, has stressed the need to pave the path of Imam Khomeini in order to confront the Western powers.
He made remarks after paying a visit to the holy mausoleum of the late founder of the Islamic Repubic.
During a meeting with Seyyed Hassan Khomeini, the grandson of Imam, the premier emphasized that the closer relations between the two nations will enable us to confront the common enemy, the West.
"This was the path that was originated and paved by Imam Khomeini,”the prime minister said.
Tambèla considered the recent Iranian attack against the Zionist regime as a sign of growing power and influence of the Islamic Republic on the world stage.
Iran launched retaliatory strikes against the occupied territories in response to the Israeli regime’s terrorist attack of April ۱ against the consular section of the Islamic Republic’s Embassy in the Syrian capital of Damascus.
The prime minister emphasized on the formation of a united front to confront the hostile powerful countries of the world.
For his part, Seyyed Hassan Khomeini also praised the critical view of the Burkina Faso prime minister regarding the Western culture.
The grandson of Imam said that our emphasis from the very beginning of the victory of the Islamic Revolution had been to stand on our own feet and revive our religious identity.
“It was because our society was heavily influenced by the decadent culture of the West before the victory of Islamic revolution,” he said.
Seyyed Hassan Khomeini, however, said that independency and sovereignty does not mean ignoring the positive aspects of the culture of other parts of the world.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Seyyed Hassan Khomeini called the current situation of Palestine and the ongoing Israeli aggression in the besieged Gaza Strip as unacceptable and emphasized on taking a position and firm stance towards it.
The grandson of Imam also lauded the ongoing protests at American university campuses and said that "We must focus our attention on the clear consciences of people and listen to the world public opinion."
No one had thought that the voices of human oppression one day would be heard in American universities. But when the issue of confronting oppression and cruelty is brought up, human spirits will get involved to confront the embracing situation.
More than ۹۰۰ arrests have been made over the past two weeks across the country, with video emerging of US police officers beating demonstrators with batons and firing pepper spray at demonstrators.
A central demand of demonstrators is for universities to divest from Israel.
The regime has killed more than ۳۴,۵۰۰ Palestinians in Gaza since early October.
The Prime Minister of Burkina Faso, Apollinaire Joachim Kyélem de Tambèla earlier met and held talks with Iranian president Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi on the sidelines of the ۲nd Iran-Africa International Summit held in Tehran on Friday.
Contrary to Western propaganda, Iran is an independent, developing and advanced country, the Prime Minister of Burkino Faso said.
In this meeting, the president called the development of relations with the African continent one of the priorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Stating that the Islamic Republic of Iran pursues the mutual interests of the Iranian nation and the African nations in interacting with African countries, he emphasized the need to speed up the establishment of mechanisms to strengthen relations between Iran and Burkina Faso, including the activation of the joint commission of the two countries.
The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to cooperate, interact and exchange its capabilities with African countries, including Burkina Faso, he said, adding that the development of these relations will benefit the nations of the two countries.
The prime minister of Burkina Faso, for his part, referred to the Western media۳۹;s attempt to present a false and distorted image of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Contrary to Western propaganda, Iran is an independent, developing and advanced country, which relies on the attractiveness of this country to develop and strengthen relations with it in all fields, he said.
The Prime Minister of Burkina Faso also emphasized his country۳۹;s interest in expanding cooperation and interaction with the Islamic Republic of Iran in communications, mining, agriculture, animal husbandry, transportation, scientific and cultural, knowledge-based, and energy fields.
