The success of the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979 has inspired the entire Muslim world, said an eminent Indian scholar Tuesday in New Delhi.
Professor Basir Ahmad, former Pro-Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in New Delhi, said: The success of the Islamic revolution, led by Imam Khomeini (R.A.), proved that by peaceful uprising of the people, even a powerful despotic monarch can be overthrown and replaced by a democratic government.
"The basic tenets by which the Islamic revolution succeeded were the Islamic principles of justice, human dignity and equality," said Basir.
Expressing solidarity with the Islamic revolution, the Indian scholar saluted Imam Khomeini's lofty ideas through which revolution was succeeded.
On the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the victory of the Islamic revolution, Basir, who is the President of the Indian Muslim League, urged Muslims around the globe to unite, sank their petty differences and follow the guidelines of Imam Khomeini for getting the success. And this will be the greatest tribute to those who laid their lives for the success of the Islamic Revolution.
Paying rich tribute to Imam Khomeini (R.A.) on the occasion, Indian Scholar said that Imam always preached for the unity of the entire Muslim Ummah and for a united struggle for the liberation of Al-Aqsa and Palestine.
'Muslims across the globe should follow the guidelines of Imam Khomeini (R.A.), the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran and leader of the Islamic Revolution, to remove Zionist's illegal occupation of Al-Aqsa Mosque," Basir suggested.
Replying to the question on the impacts of the victory of the Islamic Revolution on Iran in particular, the Indian scholar said: "The success of the Islamic revolution in Iran has brought prosperity and peace in the country. It's a model of successful Islamic democratic government." He further said that after the revolution the national wealth and the natural resources of the country are being spent on the welfare of the people and development of the country.
"Beside the US' anti-Iran policies, emerged clearly after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, led by Imam Khomeini, Iran is developing in every field with its own pace," Basir noted.
