Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says the presumption of the United States and its allies that the resistance has ended is "completely wrong."

"With the developments in Syria, and the crimes of the Zionist regime and the US, they (the enemies) thought that the issue of resistance was over; they are completely wrong," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

"The Zionist regime wants to encircle and eradicate [the Lebanese resistance group] Hezbollah through Syria, but the one that will be eradicated is Israel," he added.

The Leader made the remarks on Tuesday during a meeting with a group of women from different walks of life in the Iranian capital of Tehran in the run-up to the celebrations commemorating the birthday anniversary of Hazrat Fatemeh Zahra (SA), the beloved daughter of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Ayatollah Khamenei also underlined that the souls of assassinated Hezbollah and Hamas leaders, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Yahya Sinwar, remain alive despite their martyrdom.

"Their bodies may have gone, but ... their spirit and thoughts still remain and their path will be continued," he said.

Referring to Gaza's resilience in the face of Israel's daily attacks and the perseverance of Lebanon's resistance, the Leader emphasized that Iran stands by Palestinian and Hezbollah fighters and will keep providing them with any possible support and assistance.

He further expressed hope that the resistance fighters would see the day when "the evil enemy would be trampled under their feet."

Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Khamenei hailed the role played by Iranian women in the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, as well as during Iraq’s imposed war in the 1980s and the defense of holy shrines in Syria and Iraq.

He also praised women's activities in political, international, and scientific arenas.

The enemy resorted to soft methods such as propaganda, and insincere and tempting slogans, after they came to realize that Iran's Revolution cannot be defeated via hard methods such as war, bombing, ethnicism, and sedition, he noted.

The Leader advised women to watch out "temptations, malicious methods, and the soft war of ill-wishers" aimed at deviating them from values.
