The grandson of the late founder of the Islamic Republic says that to become an ‘Arba’eeni, we must start from ourselves and should undertake serious efforts in this regard. To accoplish this purpose, an inner evaluation should take place and such inspiration should start within the self.

Addressing a spiritual gathering on occasion of 'Arba'een at Imam Khomeini’s holy mausoleum, Seyyed Hassan Khomeini said that “we don't need to wait for outside or any external favors, but should start right now to make a change within ourselves to make a difference."

“Start just now from within yourself. For this, the best instance and example is Imam Khomeini who started with himself and used each moment of life in best manner,” he added.

The reputed scholar further stated that there is no need to blame this individual or that factor for shortcomings.

Pointing out to the comprehension of this Quranic verse, Seyyed Hassan Khomeini reminded that God the Almighty does not change what is in a nation unless they change what is in themselves.

To become someone like Jaber (the companion of the holy prophet whose family rendered great services to Islam and who became first pilgrim of Imam Hossein’s shrine after Karbala tragedy), someone has to start with the self. ‘Arba’een is an event that is closely tied to his name, Seyyed Hassan Khomeini explained.

The grandson of the late founder of the Islamic Republic said that we are all waiting for someone from far away to turn us upside down.

“God assistance will come gradually, but before that you have to prepare ground and pave the path.”

Is there an explanation why Imam Zaman (divine savior, May God hasten his appearance) does not appear?

First we should prepare and pave the ground for changes.

Imam Khomeini has been a clear example of someone who brought about significant change not only to the society but for the entire world.

“Start from within yourself. His example is Imam Khomeini who started with himself and used every moment of life.”
